BD clone

BD clone is a term used to refer to video games that were inspired by Boulder Dash. It’s an informal name of the genre that Boulder Dash, Emerald Mine and Supaplex belong to. BD clones usually combine action, puzzle solving, maze-like level designs and are tile-based.
Boulder Dash is credited with spawning the genre. However Boulder Dash itself is said to be inspired after Dig Dug and The Pit.
